Chief Investment Officer (CIO) & Partner

Jacob Grapengiesser is the CIO of East Capital and a Partner of East Capital Group. Jacob joined East Capital in 2002. He has been instrumental in building East Capital’s vast network within emerging markets as well as in developing East Capital’s rigorous investment process. In his role as CIO, Jacob is responsible for ensuring the investment process is implemented consistently throughout as well as for directly overseeing the Global Emerging Markets Sustainable Fund. Prior to East Capital, Jacob worked at Brunswick Emerging Markets and Khanty Mansiysk Oil Corporation (KMOC) in Moscow. He studied at Stockholm School of Economics, at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and the Johnson School at Cornell University in the US. Jacob speaks Swedish, Russian and English.
