Davide Basile
Partner, Head of Convertible Bonds
Davide Basile is a Partner and Head of the Convertible Bonds team at Redwheel, which he joined in 2010 after beginning his career at Morgan Stanley. Drawn to Redwheel’s commitment to high‑quality asset management, he has spent more than a decade refining his expertise in global convertible bond investing and advocating for the asset class’s distinctive diversification benefits.
Davide has a long‑standing passion for investment, shaped by a diverse international background. He spent much of his childhood in Tanzania and travelled extensively across Africa, experiences that fostered his curiosity and adaptability. After university he began his professional career as an engineer in Saudi Arabia before transitioning to finance.
Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, spending time with his family, and playing chess. An enthusiastic cook, he lists carbonara as his favourite dish to prepare. His childhood hero is Neil Armstrong, whose achievements helped inspire his early interest in science and exploration.
