Alumia, a leading Luxembourg-based MiFID-regulated investment advisory firm specialising in wealth management and fund services and partner of Universal Investment Group, is thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with Fullerton Fund Management, a distinguished Singapore-based investment management firm.

This collaboration introduces the innovative Fullerton Carbon Action Strategy (“Strategy”) to a wider European audience. The Strategy invests in market-leading companies within the manufacturing, industrials, energy, and transportation sector with clear decarbonisation pathways. By selecting firms with proven business models and profitability, the Strategy seeks to mitigate risks and enhance both financial returns and environmental impact. The Strategy promotes decarbonisation and sustainable value creation, through significant minority stake investments in 10-15 companies that operate in the highest carbon emitting sectors in emerging Asia.

Fullerton Fund Management is part of Seviora, an asset management group owned by Temasek. For the Strategy, the Fullerton team is utilising a growth-oriented private equity approach, within a robust climate investment framework co-developed with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The Fullerton Carbon Action Strategy has attracted significant interest. The Strategy has raised and captured $100 million in anchor investments from Seviora and Income Insurance, with the Fullerton investment team also contributing capital upfront. Additionally, LP investors will have significant co-investment opportunities at zero management and performance fees.

With an SFDR Article 8 classification, the Fullerton Carbon Action Strategy focuses on mature growth-stage private companies. It stands out from infrastructure and climate tech ventures. The team’s specialised private equity approach faces limited direct competition in the climate segment but competes with sector-agnostic GPs lacking similar expertise in climate investing and decarbonisation.

The Strategy’s uniqueness, positioning and focus on delivering investment excellence should appeal directly to European institutional investors with climate focused objectives.

“As Asia transitions to a low carbon economy, businesses across the region have an impetus to reduce their carbon footprint to align with their respective countries’ emission reduction targets. By investing in fast-growing and profitable companies that are at the forefront of Asia’s decarbonisation needs, this Strategy helps drive the region’s net zero goals, while providing access to potentially compelling financial outcomes in the long term,” said Tan Huck Khim, Deputy Chief Investment Officer and Head of Alternatives at Fullerton Fund Management.”

Alumia has a well-established presence advising sophisticated clients, including asset managers, corporates, and family offices across continental Europe, with a strong foothold in Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. The partnership with Fullerton Fund Management is expected to attract significant interest, with Alumia positioned to effectively distribute these sought-after investment opportunities.

Alumia’s CEO, David Saab, who brings over 20 years of experience in banking and asset management from firms like J.P. Morgan and Rothschild, remarked, “Our partnership with Fullerton Fund Management for the Fullerton Carbon Action Strategy represents an important step forward in our commitment to sustainable investing. We are confident that Fullerton’s expertise in active management will provide our clients with innovative and impactful solutions in the growing field of sustainable investing.”
